What We Do

We believe that education and learning is the key to a better life and we actively seek to play a part in education-based projects in Malaysia. We want to give our students all the support they need to succeed in school, and hence, we focused on programmes that support lifelong learning. Education

Under our Education pillar, GAB Foundation has reached out to more than 8,000 students through the following activities focusing on developing English proficiency:

English Enrichment Training Programme 2012 Education

We believe that teachers are one of the most important factors in ensuring a child’s proficiency in English and hence, we developed a programme to help English teachers improve their skills. We believe that teachers are one of the most important factors in ensuring a child’s proficiency in English and hence, we developed a programme to help English teachers improve their skills.

75 teachers from 39 schools across Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, Sabah and Sarawak participated in the programme, which comprised an English refresher course and lesson-planning exercises. The participants also attended a four-day intensive training course to equip them with enrichment skills.

The teachers conducted supplementary English classes in their schools for their students, benefiting some 1,000 students. They were visited by eight mentors at least three times in six months to monitor their progress and to provide support.

The success of the project has encouraged us to extend the programme and to reach out to more Malaysians. We are heartened by the difference in the lives of children that this programme has made, and has made us even more committed to the furtherance of this cause.
