Inspiring Today's Dreams For A Brighter Tomorrow

In January 2010, the Foundation embarked on its pilot project in East Malaysia by providing six schools and a community library in Singai, Bau with new reading corners fully equipped with book shelves, tables, chairs and a collection of English encyclopedias, dictionaries, references and story books worth more than RM70,000.

The six schools and community library that benefited from this initiative were :

  • Sekolah Kebangsaan Apar ;
  • Sekolah Kebangsaan Segong ;
  • Sekolah Kebangsaan Atas ;
  • Sekolah Kebangsaan Senibong ;
  • Sekolah Kebangsaan St. John ;
  • Sekolah Kebangsaan Bobak ; and
  • Baruk Community Library

Approximately 1,500 students from these schools now have access to relevant English reading materials that will help them build a strong foundation in their command of the English language.

The project was done in collaboration with the Association of Research and Development Movement of Singai Sarawak (REDEEMS). REDEEMS is a non-profit organisation that oversees the development affairs of the Bidayuh community.
