Environment - What We Do
Building Communities While Sustaining the Environment

Environmental conservation through the protection of water sources is a cause that is very close to our hearts as clean water, reduction of water wastage and a good supply to our communities are essential. We approached this ideal by thinking of ways to rehabilitate our river while educating the public, factories, companies and communities on the importance of good water usage.

In advocating responsible use of water and in conserving water sources we understood that we first needed to change attitudes and mindsets towards the importance of caring for our water sources. It is the responsibility of everyone to ensure rivers are sustained in every which way possible. Through active education via our various programmes and also through interactive engagements, we had hoped to see a change take place.

And so in 2007 we launched the W.A.T.E.R Project (Working Actively Through Education & Rehabilitation), to improve the water quality of our river, to increase awareness on the importance of conserving the environment and to encourage community participation towards achieving these goals. We launched the River Rehabilitation Project to get as many people as possible involved in keeping our rivers clean, and Storytime With GABBY, which is aimed at educating children on the importance of water conservation. We had hoped that this would spur other corporations, companies and the public to become actively involved in environmental conservation.
